Clash of Kaiju

Ahh, remember all the Godzillaish movies we used to watch? A HMGSGL
gamer Doug J. created a very simple and fun recreation of those movies.

Space godzilla munching on some buildings.

future events.

Surface Battle Group (SBG)

Modern naval, ok...majority gamers think Harpoon and shy away. SBG
takes this genre and makes it playable. Core rules published by Tornado
Games Corp and downloadable from Wargames Vault. The latest version
is 3.0, which reflects the author (Tom D.)is continously updated/correcting
things. The rules focus on surface engagements but have air/sub rules also.

Rules cover

I am planning to use a hex map and 1/6000
scale miniatures. Miniatures from Figurehead
available from The Last Square. Aircraft I use
the 1/1250 from Cap Aero also available from
TLS.

Recently the Chinese vessel supplement was
published.

Planned future scenario: Kuril Isle, Soviet vs.
Japanese. The original scenario is based
upon a Wargames Illustrated article ('91
I think?)

Luftwaffe 1946

Initially the rules title makes you think "non WW2" but the rules are based
on the WW2 aspect with some future flavor. They are available from MSD
Games or from I-94 Enterprises. There are 3 supplements available.

I plan to get back into the genre
when my other projects are more
settled. The rules were sandwiched
between "Blue Seas/Blue Skies"
and "CY6" releases so I feel it was
passed over.

C21 Air War

I use C21 for all my modern air war games. It is produced by Wessex Games, and
available for download at Wargames Vault. The rules IMHO takes the genre to
a managable level for gaming.

The picture below shows my home made flight stands
(originally used for Luftwaffe 1946) used only for
visual reasons. Dan Joyce of IHOGS uses a hex
based C21 which is very usable.

Vietnam Air Battle at Warparty game day

Currently I game the Vietnam Air War era. I plan to add the 82' Falklands, and a
scenario from Larry's Game Room website, "In Harms Way". The majority of
planes I purchase from is from I-94 Enterprises.

Flaklighter

PT boat warfare using Flaklighter II rules with 1/600 resin craft.
Miniatures and rules from P.T. Dockyard. Scenario from
Metro East Gaming Assoc. website.

Merchant under gunfire and shell attack, trying to evade.

The picture shows table markers I use for the game. It
represents MG splashes, shell splashes, and post shell
splashes. The "S" wake represents a vessel evading.

I went to hex maps for the ease of movement and
tracking hidden movement. I use 1.5" hex which equals
about 75yds or 4.5kts. The only "fuggy" thing was the
turn rate (based on of course 60° hexside). It comes
down to does it feel right?

Future scenario planned is a Pacific island ambush.
